The Center for School Counseling Outcome Research & Evaluation (CSCORE) is committed to improving the practice of school counseling by generating, identifying, and disseminating research related to the field; providing evaluation and consultation to support best practices; developing interventions with demonstrated efficacy and positive outcomes; and building the capacity of school counselors.
CSCORE conducts and disseminates findings from research about career, social/emotional, and academic interventions; provides K–12 leaders and practitioners with information about data-based decision-making, evidence-based practices, and program evaluation; and provides international leadership in the measurement of the outcomes of school counseling interventions and programs.
CSCORE faculty are experienced researchers who welcome requests from potential project sponsors to discuss research opportunities. The University of Massachusetts Amherst is equipped to handle a variety of sponsored research agreements, large and small, and to engage in school counseling and related program evaluation activities.
Please cscore [dot] umass [at] gmail [dot] com (contact us) if you have any questions about our professional development services.
We run an annual national conference, the Evidence-Based School Counseling Conference (EBSCC). For more information please see Evidence-Based School Counseling Conference
The Evidence-Based School Counseling Conference provides school counselors with critical information about successful practice, evaluation, and relevant research to create dynamic and powerful school counseling programs. The conference uses a unique format to incorporate both peer-reviewed research presentations and small-group consultation with leaders in the field.
